Just in time for the Summer, 4th of July, and all that stuff America invented. America by any other name would still be the land of the free guns with every bank account and the home of the brave hipsters that live in underserved, neighborhoods.

I made this after watching a Lets Play of “Wolfenstein: The New Order”. One of the characters, a former Nazi, says this line and I don’t know why it stuck in my noggin but it did and I made a T-shirt out of it. Also, “Wolfenstein: The New Order” is pretty rad.
So here is a fun little project: The Real McKoy and super producer Sami Jano have joined creative forces and started a hip-hop (super) group called Young Rogue. It’s a weird, abstract collaboration along the lines of Deltron 3030 and The Bullitts in that we’re creating a concept album with a narrative that runs through it. The concept itself will be a multimedia package involving visual art as well as music. Basically, it’s going to be straight dope.
We need a rapper to joint our group.
We are looking for a dope lyricist that is adept at weaving intricate tales as well as being a beast on the mic and mad charismatic stage presence. Like I mentioned, we’re assembling a group of massive creativity and dropping a concept album that would rival Prince Paul’s A Prince Amongst Thieves. We definitely want to put you MC skills to the test.
If you’re interested in join gin our group, please submit links to some of your illest work to i.am.therealmckoy [at] gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself. We’re looking for anybody and will not discriminate; male, female, gay, straight, black, while, brown, yellow, red , purple. To quote KRS One, “A dope MC is a dope MC.” The only real requirement is that you currently reside in the NYC Tri-state area and you are actually good at rapping. Cornballs need not apply. Please submit by May 22, 2014 as we are trying to get this project moving as soon as possible. Need more info? Email i.am.therealmckoy [at] gmail.com.
This is the piece I did for the Dreams According To Us 2014 fundraising art exhibit. The theme was obviously dreams. I code to tackle dreams as a meta device: dreaming of a dreamer.By entering the bed, getting underneath the duvet, you are entering her dreams. As you lay dreaming, you are on her mind.
Proceeds go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. There is still artwork left to be purchased for a great cause.
Jason McKoy (Me) is an artist participating in the Dreams…According to Us art show and sale benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Come to meet Jason (again, that’s Me) and our other artists at Rogue Space (508 W 26th St, New York, NY 10001) at 6pm on March 13th, 2014.
I’m kind of obsessed with hands. I find them to be more expressive than faces sometimes. Someone’s face can be calm and collected but their aggressively wringing their hands under the table is more telling of their true emotive state.
